Navapoojitham Celebrations Begin with Floral Offerings
Santhigiri, Pothencode: Santhigiri Ashram is celebrating Navapoojitham, the ninety-eighth birth anniversary of Navajyothi Sri Karunakara Guru, the founder of Santhigiri Ashram.
The Sannyasa Sangha conducted special prayers and rituals at 5 a.m. After the 6 a.m. worship, Ashram President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapasvi and General Secretary Swami Gururatnam Jnana Thapasvi hoisted the flag. Sannyasins, Brahmacharins, and devotees participated in the floral offering that followed.
Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs George Kurien will inaugurate the General Meeting at 10.30 am. Cooperative Union Chairman Koliakode N. Krishnan Nair, who received the Robert Owen Award for the best Cooperative of the State government, will be honored at the function. The book ‘Avadhuta Yatra’ by Anilchertala and ‘Vandanam’ by Srimangalam Kalari Rajiv Gurukal will also be released.
At noon there will be guru darshan, various dedications, and annadanam. The Cultural Meeting to be held at 2 pm will be inaugurated by State Food and Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil. The Meeting will be attended by prominent people from various religious, political, social, and cultural circles.
Prize distribution to the winners of the ‘Avadhutayatra’ quiz competition organized under the auspices of Santhigiri Atma Vidyalayam and ‘Navapatham 2024’ Prashnothari winners held under the auspices of Matrumandalam, a women’s cultural wing of the Ashram, will also be held on the occasion.

The fasting and prayer ceremonies to mark the 98th birthday celebrations of Santhigiri Ashram founder Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru started on Monday, 19 August 2024.
After the 6 am worship, the 21-day long fast started with the filling of the ‘Purna Kumbha’ in the Lotus Parnashala under the leadership of the Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi.
As the prayer ceremonies in connection with the 98th Navapoojitham celebrations begin at Santhigiri Ashram, Ashram General Secretary Swami Gururethnam Jnana Thapaswi fills the ‘Purna Kumbha’ and dedicates it at the Lotus Parnashala.
Guru’s birthday is on Sunday, September 8, 2024. In connection with this, special prayers will be held in Ashram branches across the country. A 41-day satsang series is being held online under the auspices of Santhigiri Atma Vidyalayam on the theme ‘Guru’s Love’. At the international level, the satsangs are being held under the coordination of Santhigiri Cultural and Social Center, a group of devotees in Germany, Canada, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
Ashram General Secretary’s office informed that various gatherings, quiz competitions based on Avadhutayatra, cleaning programs led by the Ashram organizations will be held as part of the Navapoojitham celebrations.
Swami Chaithanya Jnana Thapaswi Inaugurate the 41-day Campaign
On the occasion of Navojyotishri Karunakara Guru’s 98th birth anniversary ‘Navapoojitam’, a 41-day campaign will be held under the auspices of Santhigiri Atma Vidyalayam from today. Ashram President Swami Chaitanya Jnana Thapasvi will inaugurate the campaign today.
The program has been organized online at 7.30 pm. Santhigiri ViSNK Kozhikode Area Deputy General Convener (Administration) P.M. Chandran will welcome the meeting and TP Sangeetha, Assistant Convener (Administration) Santhigiri Matru Mandalam Kozhikode Area will deliver the vote of thanks.
Satsang will be held online at the same time on all days except Thursday till September 5. Each region will be responsible for coordinating this program every day. Satsang will be held in respective prayer units on Thursday.
41-days long campaign Sathsangam
The Navapoojitham Satsang, organized by Santhigiri Atma Vidyalayam, is being organised from different cities in the world as part of the 98th birthday celebrations of Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru. Today’s, August 18th, Sunday, satsang is being organised by the devotees in the USA.
Guru’s love is full of support and care in the hardships and sorrows of expatriate life. Over the past few days, the participants’ eyes watered as they shared their experiences of feeling Guru’s care far away from home. Sanyasis and Sanyasinis have enriched the meets by sharing their experiences on the topic of ‘Guru’s Love’.
Coordinated by the respective Santhigiri Cultural and Social Centres, devotees in Germany, Canada, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman have shared their experiences.

Santhigiri Gives the Message of Religious Harmony – Minister G.R. Anil
Food and Civil Supplies Department Minister G R Anil said that Santhigiri celebrations are for everyone regardless of caste-religion-national-political-religious differences. Ashram always becomes a platform of love, brotherhood, simplicity, and unity.
Santhigiri is putting forward a message of religious harmony by creating a situation where people from different sections can share the stage in an era where people are separated based on caste, and religion, he added.
The minister was speaking while inaugurating the Cultural Meeting held in connection with the 98th Navpoojitham celebrations. It is in recognition of those messages that Navjyoti Sri Karunakara Guru’s teachings are popular all over the world today. This is a time when the Guru’s words and views are very relevant.
The Minister said that this is the time to implement Guru’s words with great importance to create a more peaceful atmosphere in the country and to bring together the people who are living in ghettos closer for various reasons.
Kumari R. Kalpasree who made it to the national team in roll ball skating and Kumari Dakshina Bijo, who won a gold medal at the national level in water polo, were felicitated on the occasion.
The Minister also felicitated Smriti S.Nair, Vivek.VP, Maya. S.N., Suma.S., Salpriyan, Biju. R.G. and Mukta Sheeba Suresh in various categories in the quiz competition held under the auspices of Santhigiri Atma Vidyalayam.
