Navapoojitam Celebrated in Santhigiri Ashram

Pothencode: Santhigiri Ashram has given spirituality a new meaning and a positive direction, said Vasanth Sena Nayake, Sri Lankan Minister for Foreign Affairs, inaugurating the Navapoojitam function in the Ashram. Religious institutions should promote peace and brotherhood through their teachings, not friction in the society. Navajyothi Sree Karunakara Guru worked for the spiritual and social emancipation of the masses, especially the downtrodden reinterpreting and revisiting the ancient teachings of the Rishis. He freed people from outdated customs and beliefs with a revolutionary vision for social transformation, he added.


The Chief Guest Sri Nada Kumar Sai, Chairman, Scheduled Castes and Tribes Commission said that while India was blessed with the plenitude of nature, non-adherence to true dharma leads the country to numerous problems. ‘After visiting Santhigiri Ashram, I am confident that the true dharma of the ancient sages would flourish in India once again’, he added. C. Divakaran, MLA presided over the function. Swami Gururetnam Jnana Tapaswi, Organizing Secretary, Santhigiri Ashram, Dr. S. Venugopalachari, Official Representative, Govt. of Telangana and several other dignitaries attended Navapoojitam celebrations, which concluded with a lamp procession by thousands of devotees.


Sri Katakamplly Surendran, the State Minister for Devaswam inaugurated the valedictory function of the Global Spiritual Conclave organized by Santhigiri Research Foundation as part of Navapoojitam Celebrations. Prof. S. R. Bhatt, Chairman, Indian Council for Philosophical Research delivered the Keynote address. Sri Palode Ravi, former Dy. Speaker, Kerala Legislative Assembly presided over the function which was attended by hundreds of delegates from India and abroad.
